I READ in the Times letters (Please be sure to clean up after your dog, January 1) — what about all those cat owners out there who allow their pets to defecate all over the place? And before all you cat lovers say you can't train a cat to poo in its own back yard, if you try hard enough they will. However, most cat lovers assume its okay to let their pet out to mess in someone else's garden.

I have to clean up every time I go into my garden, and not content at pooing in the flower beds and on the grass they also do so in my pots and urinate around them — the smell is awful. Please train your cat to poo in its own back garden and not mine.
