OKEHAMPTON Community Archive Group is planning an exciting event in the town this month.

To bring the work and leisure time of the 1930s, 40s and 50s to life, the group are staging a street café evening with memorabilia from the period, as well as music and a chance for guests to share their memories of that time.

The group are asking guests to bring items to dress the venue, which will help give an authentic feel of the period.

Anyone who has small objects such as lamps, box cameras, old posters, newspapers from the period, radio's and gramophones, are asked to get in touch with Okehampton Community Archive Group.

Items can be specific to Okehampton or anything that captures the spirit of the early and mid 20th Century.

For more information or to leave details of the item to be displayed, phone Paul Vachon on 01837 54568, Christine Marsh on 01837 52350 or Michael Ireland on 01837 659100.
