THE Turning Tides Project — a community interest company that works in Okehampton — is starting up its music group Jam Buddies again in the New Year.
Turning Tides’ aim is to provide access to music and the arts to all people including those with learning difficulties or autism.
One of the Turning Tides Project’s activities is Jam Buddies, which are weekly music sessions held in in the recreation room behind the King’s Arms pub in Okehampton.
Jam Buddies runs every Wednesday after school at 3.30pm during term time, and encourages young people to come together and learn about all aspects of music.
Youngsters are encourages to take part in writing songs and lyrics, learning to play a wide array of musical instruments, and recording sound and video.
