A DARTMOOR blogger will be launching her first solo book at Dartmoor National Park Authority’s summer fair on July 30.

Popular local blogger Fi Darby said she was delighted to be launching the new children’s paperback The Non-Story of Ignatius Bowerman, which has taken her a year and a half to complete.

The book adds a twist of modern-day friendship and adventure to the much-loved Dartmoor legend, Bowerman the Hunter. Aimed at the older primary and younger secondary age group; Ignatius Bowerman will appeal to youngsters who enjoy adventure and to parents who want to encourage their offspring to get outside.

The book includes a find and explore page, which gives details of the real Dartmoor locations that have been used throughout the story.

Fi is the co-author of Two Blondes Walking, a Dartmoor blog (www.twoblondeswalking.com). They do love Dartmoor and spend much of their spare time teaching and leading young people in both the Ten Tors Challenge and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Non-Story of Ignatius Bowerman follows the Blondes’ two successful picture books, The Dartmoor Christmas Tree and Dart the River — all three books have been designed by Fi’s husband Simon.

? The Dartmoor National Park Summer Fair will be held at the Visitor Centre in Princetown from 11am to 4pm.
