A FIRE crew from Hatherleigh tackled a vehicle fire at a farmyard in Iddesleigh at around 11.30pm on Friday.

Firefighters requested the help of another crew as the vehicle was close to two properties.

Crews used hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, two powder extinguishers and thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.

The vehicle was left severely damaged and 50% of an adjoining porch of a house was also damaged.

l Fire crews were called to put out a fire in the cab of a heavy goods vehicle carrying concrete at Exeter Road Industrial Estate, Okehampton, at around 8.46am on Monday.

Two crews from Okehampton, along with a water carrier from Torquay attended.

The small fire involved electrics on the vehicle.?The cause of the fire was accidental.

l Fire crews were called to extinguish a blaze in a dumper truck at Oxham Cross, Three Moors Lane, South Zeal, last Thursday.

They arrived at 5.40pm, where they found the dumper truck well alight. They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet. The fire left the truck severely damaged.

l A fire crew was called to the A386, half a mile outside Okehampton on Saturday afternoon to wash away a fuel spillage following a collision.
