TWO West Devon-based companies have been recognised for exceptional customer service provided to clients.
The Business Information Point (BIP), which is based in Okehampton, has achieved the Matrix Quality Standard, which is the national accreditation for organisations that deliver information, advice and guidance services.
The accreditation demonstrates the not-for-profit company's high standards in helping small and medium-sized businesses start up or develop, through support such as individual coaching, training courses and workshops.
BIP's managing director Steward Horne said: 'We are delighted the service we provide to this vital part of Devon and Cornwall's rural economy has been recognised and we'll continue to improve and develop the support we give.'
The Matrix assessor found BIP particularly strong in the honest and impartial advice staff gave to individual clients and in their high level of enthusiasm and commitment to provide the very best service.
Other strengths included their knowledge of the rural business sector and unique perspective and their communications between BIP, their clients and external partners.
Independent self-catering agency in the West Country, Helpful Holidays, who have also received recognition for their services, has been shortlisted for a National Customer Service Award 2009.
The awards celebrate the effort and impact of excellent service on the customer and business.
General manager for the Chagford-based company, Moray Bowater, said: 'We are delighted to be shortlisted for this important award.
'This is a great personal credit to our team and a testament to the level of service offered by Helpful Holidays overall, as shown by a 95% satisfaction rate from our questionnaires and a repeat booking rate of over 50%.'
The winners will be announced at a ceremony and dinner on Wednesday, December 9 at Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane.
The ceremony will be attended by more than 900 guests, including the finalists, judges, industry leaders and customer service professionals.
