Bideford U16s 0
Okehampton U16s 64
OKEHAMPTON started brightly. With some good passing out to the wing Jordan Cornthwaite ran up the line before passing to Luke Dennis who scored touched down just inside the corner post — which was converted by Liam Wilkins .
With some good pressure by the Oke forwards Bideford were often on the back foot. This allowed Marcus Garratt and then Steven Paul to score tries. Dean Folland, playing blind side flanker, picked up the ball from a ruck just inside their half and ran through to score. Oke full back Deane Andrew, collected the ball on the his 22 and ran across the pitch through a few tackles before outpacing the defenders up the wing and scoring under the posts.
With a Bideford lineout on their five metre line, Bidefords' jumper won the ball only for Josh Bush to steal it out of his hands and score close to the posts. The first half finished with Dean F scoring his second try running to give the visitors a lead of 43-0.
The second half saw Oke continue the pressure with some good passing from the centre out to the wingers. From a scrum on the half way line, Oke number 8, Conor Kendrew, picked up the ball and passed it to Luke who used his speed and strength and score under the posts for his second. In an almost identical move Luke again ran through, this time up the wing, to score under the posts. Soon after Josh ran through some tackles before getting tackled on their 22 but Liam and Marcus were on-hand to ruck over the ball leaving Dean free to pick it up and run through to score with Liam converting seven out of 10 attempts.
