THE OKEHAMPTON Argyle veteran men's football team proved they still had it in them when they beat the ladies 5-1 in a charity football match on Sunday in aid of Cancer Research.
The 35-minute game was followed by refreshments in the clubhouse and £106 was raised for the charity. Organisers said this event was very short notice and next year they hoped to put on the match as part of a family fun day.
Thanks were expressed to Emily Martin for organising the event, to Neil Clift for organising the refreshments, and to Andy Bennett who gave up his time to officiate the game.
