THE Post Office in Exbourne is to move to a new location.

Post Office Ltd has announced it is to relocate the service to Exbourne Village Shop, The Burrow, Exbourne — 200 yards from its present location. The move follows a public consultation.

The current branch will close on Monday, June 25 with the new Post Office service opening on Wednesday, June 27.

Post Office Ltd spokesperson Colin Pound said: 'Having listened to the small amount of feedback we are confident that the new service is suitably located and that this move will enable us to secure Post Office services to our customers in Exbourne in the longer term.

'Customers will benefit from longer opening hours as the service will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Customers can transact a wide range of the most commonly used Post Office products and services, including collecting benefits in cash using our banking services or Post Office card account, bill payment and mail posting.'

The premises have a ramp and a wide door at the entrance. Internally there is space for a wheelchair, a low level serving counter and a hearing loop.

There is roadside parking directly outside the premises.
