STAFF and students at Shebbear College are making final preparations for the visit to the college of VOCES8.

It will be an action-packed day. In the morning and afternoon, the singers will lead workshops for students who sing in the College choirs.

The visit will conclude in the evening with a VOCES8 concert at the Parkhouse Centre in Bude.

VOCES8 are a London-based, international award-winning vocal ensemble of eight singers, founded by ex-choristers of Westminster Abbey.

They perform a wide range of music from early English choral pieces to their own modern day jazz and pop arrangements and, since their formation in 2005, have recorded five CDs.

They have appeared on the BBC and a number of European television and radio stations.

Kevin Parker, Shebbear College's director of music, said: 'This is a very exciting opportunity for our students to work with such an inspirational and youthful ensemble'.
