STUDENTS in Shebbear College class 2C have been taking a hands-on approach to learning about geography.

The students learned about the characteristic and key features common to most volcanoes by designing and building their own models.

In pairs, students used cardboard, newspapers and PVA glue to build the models, and once dry, used their artistic skills to make their models look like the real thing. They then labelled and included a description for each volcanic feature.

The volcanoes are now being used for a colourful classroom display.
