A FUNDRAISER from Exbourne will undertake a ten-mile walk to raise money for a cancer charity next month.

On August 4, Gary Bird will walk from Okehampton through Exbourne, ending up at Hatherleigh to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. He is supporting the charity following the death of his grandfather last year, and chose a ten-mile walk to help improve his fitness.

As part of his fundraising efforts, Gary has also organised a raffle, with donations from businesses in the town. Among the prizes on offer are a free MOT, vouchers for Abstract clothes shop, a £40 photo shoot and more.

The raffle will be held in the Dovecote Restaurant on Saturday, July 28 at 3pm with an open bar. Ticket strips cost £1 each and are available from the Dovecote.

He has already raised £500 and is hoping to break past £1,000, so is looking for support from as many people as possible.

If you have a raffle prize you would like to donate, or can offer any other help, please enquire at the Dovecote on how you can help.
