Victoria Park

BELSTONE got back on the winning trail in the league with a compre-hensive nine wicket victory over Victoria Park, who suffered at the last minute from the withdrawal of four of their original squad.

By the time the regular Belstone opening attack of Jonathan Parsons and Harry Bushin had completed their nine over spells the writing was on the wall for the visitors as they were reeling at 24-6, with Parsons picking up 4-9 and Bushin 2-13, helped by keeper Richard Drake pouching two of the three catches he took during the innings. There was no respite when the bowling changed as skipper David Binns (6.1-1-9-2) and Callum Mallett (2-1-8-1) continued the damage; none of the Victoria Park batsmen reached double figures as they subsided to 44 all out after 31.1 overs. It took just nine overs for Phil Woods (28 not out) and Phil Dennis (16) to reach the target as Belstone consolidated their position at the top of the division four table, with six League games to play.

Belstone (20pts) beat Victoria Park (1pt) by nine wickets.
