I WANTED to say a big thank you to all of the people involved with Okehampton Show for making it such a wonderful day this year — to the members of the show committee, stewards, car parking attendants, gate keepers and to all of the other volunteers (such as those providing veterinary and medical cover) on behalf of those who attended the show, I want to say how grateful we are.

We were so lucky with the weather and it was due to the nerve of the chairman of the show, John Hockridge that the show went ahead at all (he had been advised to cancel the event only the night before since the parking was judged to be unfit). Well done, John, for persevering.

Congratulations to all of the participants with their exhibits for coming — it was pleasing to see so many people take the opportunity to show off the results of their hard work and it was also great to see so many trade stands despite the hard economic times.
