LAST weekend Okehampton truly enjoyed a wonderful carnival with many terrific entries in both the afternoon and evening parades.

I am writing to thank the Okehampton Carnival Committee for all their hard work. Such work continues steadfastly throughout the year to ensure that the Okehampton Carnival takes place. Much goes on behind the scenes; in both planning and fund raising which is often not fully appreciated but results in an event which is so greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all.

I am sure all who attended the carnival events will join with me in expressing sincere appreciation to the carnival committee for their dedication.

Appreciation must also be given to the various volunteer stewards from some of Okehampton's voluntary organisations who help to man the road blocks over a lengthy period of time.

Well done to all involved. A good time was had by all!
