THE visitors set off on the right foot in taking the game to their hosts.
With just four minutes gone, Davis and Philpott swapped passes to set up Chris Woof who calmly lobbed the ball in from close range — his first goal since early December.
Within minutes Philpott combined with Scarry to be sent through with the home 'keeper saving bravely at Philpott's feet. Despite their domination,
Chagford were to concede an equaliser just before half-time. A low cross from the right was not dealt with and the home striker swept the ball past Swift.
Scott came on for the hard working Stocks, at half-time, and the balance swung to Chagford again.
Philpott's early, over the top, ball was chased down by Scott whose shot rattled a post. Within minutes Haxton sent Steve Scott through again and, deftly side-stepping the 'keeper, the striker rolled the ball into an empty net. Scott's sixth goal in six games for the club. Not withstanding his goal scoring, Scott demonstrated the other side to his game as he sent Jon Scarry through to chip Brent's 'keeper.
The game looked over when Philpott and Scott combined, the latter squaring the ball for Woof to smash home his second — and Chagfords' fourth — goal from 20 yards out. This was an excellent quarter of an hour for the visitors. Chagford then conceded a couple of the silly goals — the first from a needless penalty and the second from a defensive mix up that failed to clear their lines. This made the next ten minutes a lot harder for the visitors although Scott again hit a post. With eight minutes to go, Gavin Forsey's long free-kick fell nicely for Jon Scarry to net his personal second and seal the win for the Moormen.
