IF YOU have an idea for a community project but don't know where to start, a free workshop in Spreyton could give you the help you need.

The 'Funding your community Enterprise' workshop is designed for social enterprises, community organisations and charities, and will introduce you to the social enterprise model.

Social enterprises are a growing family of self-help initiatives, providing much needed services and opportunities in local communities and often stepping in where the private sector has failed to deliver and the public sector cannot reach.

This free workshop will encourage you to develop ideas for social enterprise projects, and will help in understanding business plans and funding strategies.

The event is in Spreyton Village Hall on Thursday March 24 between 9.30am and 4pm. Places on the course are free, including a buffet lunch, with funding provided by the Big Lottery Fund for the Devon Consortium. Participants are required to make a refundable deposit of £10, and early booking is advised.
