A WITTY film made by a youngster from Okehampton has won first prize at a regional film competition.
Christopher Childs, aged 14, has been announced as the winner of the under 16 category of the Made on Dartmoor film competition, run by the Moretonhampstead Festival of Food, Drink and Arts.
The competition, launched this year, was intended to showcase the talent and creativity of local filmmakers, whose focus would draw heavily on the iconic backdrop of the moor.
Filmmakers were invited to write, shoot and edit a video of no more than 90 seconds that features food related people, animals or products, all of which either work, are grown or produced within the confines of the Dartmoor National Park.
Christopher created an animated film about a real Dartmoor breakfast, wittily depicting how an English breakfast makes it from field to plate.
The originality and humour within the film impressed the judges. Christopher has been making animated films since he was six.
The winning entries will be forwarded to regional TV, all food and drink producers and tourist organisations in Devon with a request to air it at their convenience.
