PUPILS from Shebbear College Junior School have done themselves proud in the 21st annual junior cross country competition organised by St Petroc's School in Bude.

All of the school's runners performed well, with Eliza Banbury winning the under 11s girls race, and Harry Brown finishing second in the U9s boys race. The school's U9s boys team finished third overall.

Run at Summerleaze Down on the cliffs over the beaches in Bude, the event is the largest junior cross country event held in the South West, attracting around 400 runners in teams from more than 20 schools.

The event comprised four races, U9s girls, U9s boys, U11s girls and U11s boys running over one and two kilometre courses.
