THE Christmas season may be over, but the spirit of giving is still in the air, as Okehampton Round Table recently donated £200 to Hatherleigh Youth Club.
The youth club helped Father Christmas and his friends at the Round Table collect money for charity through the streets of Hatherleigh over the Christmas period.
The fundraisers at the Round Table donated the money to the club to help pay for a new ping-pong table.
The organisation managed to raise just over £3,000 over the holiday season, collecting cash with Father Christmas. As well as collecting it to share out among local organisations, the team collected food donations for the Okehampton Foodbank. Along the way they were also helped by Okehampton Hockey Club and the North Tawton Girl Guide group.
James Stevens, secretary for Okehampton Round Table, said: 'It was a special year for Okehampton Round Table, as we had the newly refurbished sleigh for Santa.
'We received comments every day about how fantastic it looked, which made all the hard work feel very worthwhile.'
Applications can now be put in to Okehampton Round Table to request funds toward their organisation.

The Round Table expressed thanks to everyone who gave so generously to help raise their superb total, as well as their helpers from Okehampton Hockey Club, North Tawton Girl Guides and Hatherleigh Youth Club.
