Wartime letters inspire Okehampton writer's novelThistles forced an early corner but it was a false dawn as soon Horrabridge broke through the Tavistock defence with Josh Broughton slotting home the first of his five goals.
Horrabridge proved to be solid at the back with Tavistock limited to half chances but the game remained at 1-0 for a while as Tavistock showed resilience before Josh stepped up to slot home his second goal and completed his hat trick soon afterwards.
Good play by the Horrabridge midfield was finished off by Martin Hoar who scored the fourth. Just before the half time whistle Josh Broughton sped down the left hand side of the pitch and from the tightest of angles the ball spun in off the far post to it 5-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Rangers soon increased their lead when Broughton scored his fifth goal. The visitors started to move the ball around with Sam Grindell putting the ball in the net only for the goal to be disallowed for offside. Lewis Eglington's powerful runs into the box and were rewarded when he scored his first goal for the club.
Joshua Bainbridge picked up a clearance to crack a shot from the half way mark over the keeper and into the net for number eight. Lewis capped off a fine team performance by scoring his second with a strong finish after some solid work in midfield by Rob Pearce.

Southgate Colts 0
Tavistock Town 6
TAVISTOCK had to win this game to keep alive their hopes of promotion. The visitors started brightly using the slope of the pitch to their advantage. Tavistock took the lead when Phelan scored his first goal of the season when he turned in a cross following good work by Hicks and Davidson.
The lead was extended when Hancock found the top corner of the goal from the edge of the penalty box with a fine finish.
Despite rarely being troubled by the Southgate attacks, Tavistock still laboured to find their form with the defence hesitant in dealing with the ball, a lack of communication and players running with the ball when better options were available.
The second half brought some better play from Tavistock and goals came at regular intervals with two from Hicks, a second for Hancock and a neat finish from Blatchford. Tavistock had other chances to add to the score but poor finishing along with good saves from the Southgate keeper meant Town had to settle for six.
Southgate nearly added a consolation late on but the ball bounced back off the post into Holland's hands.

Horrabridge Rangers 5
HORRABRIDGE started the game well and took the lead after five minutes when Courtney Fry's pin-point cross was headed home by Billy Rawlinson. Although Rangers dominated possession early on they could only muster a few attempts at goal that were saved well by the SB goalkeeper. With five minutes of the half remaining, Jack Northams long through ball was met by Rawlinson who made no mistake from 20 yards.
Playing against the wind in the second half Horrabridge started quick out of the blocks and Josh Birch added a third minutes into the half after good link up play involving Sam Ryder and James Dent. Birch soon added his second again linking up well with Dent to fire past the goalkeeper from 10 yards. The home side then started to use the wind to good affect but the Horrabridge defence being well marshalled by Jack Northam were always in control.
Josh Birch then grabbed his hat-trick with 10 minutes of the game remaining after a good team build up involving Dent, Johnson and Glanville. SB grabbed a superb consolation after a superb strike from 40 yards. Horrabridge player of the match was Josh Birch.
West Exe Athletic U13s 2
Okehampton Argyle U13s 5
ARGYLE started a little nervous and it took until the 11th minute when they took the lead when Ben Bickle chipped the ball over the top to Ross Voaden to tap it in. The next goal followed a goalmouth scramble with Ben Bickle having two attempts at goal before finally curling it home past the keeper.
Argyle were dominating the game when player of the match Ryan Gross was brought down in the penalty area; however the West Exe keeper made a great save from the spot kick.
In the second half, Argyle's Nathan Andrew took advantage of a lapse of concentration from West Exe when he shot the ball past the goalie. Ben Bickle made a great run to fired the ball home for Oke's fourth goal.
Midway through the second half West Exe scored from a free kick, closely followed with a goal from a penalty. Argyle came straight back at them with Ollie Crimmins making a great run to score. Argyle came away with a well deserved win.

Tavistock Town 5
Chaddlewood Miners 4
TAVISTOCK Town fell behind in the first ten minutes but this was soon cancelled out when leading goal scorer Teigan Rosenquest scored two goals in the next ten minutes to give Town a 2-1 lead.
Town continued to pile on the pressure but were denied by Chaddlewood's player of the match-keeper Jack Newton.
The next goal was in Towns favour and was scored by Reece Watters giving Tavistock a 3-1 lead at half time.
The second-half saw plenty more action but it was Chaddlewood who scored to reduce the deficit.
Tavistock went two goals ahead again mid-way into the second half through Rosenquest who completed his hat-trick. The visitors fought back to score again. The last ten minutes saw Rosenquest grab his fourth goal of the game and Chaddlewood finding the net once more making the final score 5-4.
This was another good performance by Town and player of the match Thomas Mcmahon made sure of the three points to keep Town clear at the top of the table.
