Devon and Exeter division three
South Zeal Utd 0
Bickleigh 1
BICKLEIGH had to fight hard to keep their 100% record against South Zeal on Saturday and it would have been justice had the home side shared the spoils and earned a point.
The game was tight throughout with both defences having the upper hand and as a result very few good chances were created in the first half until Bickleigh got what proved to be the winning goal as a cross from the left was deflected allowing them to score from close range.
For most of the second half South Zeal had the better of the exchanges but failed to create a clear cut chance but Harley Cann, Scott Hooper and Darren Gilbert all had shots at goal that went close.
For the last 10 minutes Bickleigh were glad to see the game out but as Zeal pushed forward they left themselves exposed at the back and but for some great defending by Dan Wakeham the visitors might have breathed more easily but in the end some desperate defending by Bickleigh stopped Zeal from getting the equaliser they deserved.
