Bill Slee cup
Colaton Raleigh 2
South Zeal Utd 3
GOALS from Darren Prouse, Scott Hooper and Tom Reilly put South Zeal through to the semi final of the cup at Colaton Raleigh on Sunday.
This was a game of two halves as South Zeal, with the slope and sun at their backs, dominated play in the first half. They took the lead after 15 minutes when Scott Hooper's powerful header, from a Redd Cann corner, went into the far corner.
Colaton equalised against the run of play ten minutes later when they were awarded a soft penalty but Darren Prouse restored United's lead with a terrific left foot finish that gave the home keeper no chance.
Leading 2-1 into the second half it was only some great defending and a great display by Reg Wonnacott in the South Zeal goal that prevented Colaton from going ahead after they had equalised after 15 minutes of the second half.
However, with only five minutes left, a great corner from the left taken by Redd Cann saw Tom Reilly power a great header into the roof of the Colaton net to see South Zeal through to the semi final on March 26.
