YOUNG Tavistock boxer Aiden Whiting competed in the prestigious Bristol Box Cup and reached the final.

On the night Aiden was beaten by a more experienced boxer.

However, it was a good experience for the Tavistock youngster.

Tony Fennell, the senior coach at Tavistock ABC told Times Sport:?‘Aiden has the dedication and focus required to succeed and is fast acquiring the skills, knowledge and experience that will ensure his success in future contests.

‘Tavistock ABC has not been running long, affiliating to the ABA earlier this year, and the coaching staff are delighted with Aiden’s progress so far and think the best is yet to come from this young man.

‘Tavistock ABC hopes to be able to put on Tavistock’s own Boxing Tournament in the future, and encourages young people to learn the self discipline, and reward for endeavour and effort that the the sport can bring.’
