FROM the moment in the 15th minute when Harley Cann latching onto a Stuart Entwistle through ball, was brought down in the penalty area, the home side were in control.

The penalty was coolly dispatched by Daniel Gibbs to put Zeal 1-0 up.

Lympstone struggled to create chances with South Zeal's back four of Daniel Gibbs, Tom Reilly, Graham Soby and Lee Gilbert in great form.

The visitors main threat came from set pieces.

South Zeal went 2-0 up when Graham Soby played a great through ball to Darren Gilbert, who produced a superb finish from an acute angle.

It became 3-0 when Harley Cann latched onto a through ball from Scott Hooper and stabbed the ball home after the Lympstone keeper fumbled on the line.

The visitors reduced the deficit just before half time with a penalty to make the score 3-1 at half time.

Lympstone did better in the second half without threatening to get back into the game and after Redd Cann finished well from close range after 10 minutes to put the home side 4-1 up the three points were safe.

n ON the Easter weekend Zeal won 6-0 at Sandford with goals from Jamie Atherton (2), Redd Cann, Daniel Gibbs, and Harley Cann (2) and drew 0-0 with Hemyock in a dour game that produced few chances for either team.
