IN division one of Okehampton and District Table Tennis League, Bridestowe played Okehampton A. In a hard fought match, Mark Tancock scored a fine maximum to help Bridestowe to a 6-4 win.

Mark Fogerty scored two singles and joined Phil Dunn to win the doubles against Karen Stephenson and Steve Madge. John Squire did well to win two singles for Okehampton.

Bridestowe played Anchorage B, where the former proved much more experienced and ran out 10-0 winners. In the next, Bridestowe played Tavistock. who did well to earn a 5-5 draw. Mark Tancock again scored a maximum.

Roger Bowkett and Nick Davis both scored two singles for Tavistock. Angharad Beman did well to beat Francis Griffiths and Beman was unlucky to lose the doubles with Bowkett against Tancock and Griffiths 12-10 in the fifith.

Bridestowe played North Wyke. Francis Griffiths just won the first 14-12, 5-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8 against Enrique Cancer-Barrota. Bridestowe stepped up a gear, winning the next seven singles. Yushu Zhang saved the whitewash beating Griffiths 11-8 in the fifth leg for a 9-1 win for Bridestowe.

in the last division one match, Tavistock were at home against Anchorage A. Tavistock took the first three singles before Malcolm Hopkins beat Nick Davis.

Tavistock then stepped up a gear, winning the next five singles and the doubles for a 9-1 win with Roger Bowkett and Peter Hicks both scoring maximums.

In division two, the first match was between club rivals Horrabridge A and B. The first singles, Brendon Seward had to pull out all the stops against Myles Pinkney just winning 11-8 in the fifth.

Alex Cunningham levelled at 1-1 beating Gerald Whitehouse in the fourth. Crispin Jordan won the next against Matthew Dowie. Pinkney pulled one back against Whitehouse to level at 2-2. The A side won the next four singles to lead 6-2. Cunningham did well to win his last singles against Seward in the fourth before the A side won the doubles for a 7-3 win with Jordan scoring a fine maximum.

In the next, Okehampton G played Horrabridge B. Will Ash beat James Emony to put Okehampton 1-0 up. Matthew Dowie levelled for Horrabridge against Tom Chastey. Okehampton won the next two with Morgan Holt beating Miles Pinkney and Chastey beating Emony.

Pinkney and Dowie both beat Holt to level at 4-4. Ash took the last singles against Pinkney before Horrabridge took the doubles to finish the tie with a 5-5 draw.

Okehampton G played club rivals Okehampton E. Will Ash did well in the first beating Roni Gallardo. Morgan Holt beat Lauren Loosemore to go 2-0 ahead before Alfie East pulled one back against Tom Chastey and Gallardo beat Holt to level at 2-2. East won his next two to score a fine maximum and Ash won his second singles, beating Loosemore in a tight match. The G side took the doubles resulting in another 5-5 draw.

In the final match, Gunnislake A were at home to Moretonhampstead. Michael Kinger won the first against Richard Underhill and Jack Flockton beat James May for a 2-0 lead.

It looked like it was heading for 3-0 when Trevor Luckhurst won the first two legs against Ken Underhill 12-10, 11-3 but age won the day with Ken taking the next 3 9-11, 6-11, 7-11 to save his team from the whitewash.

Gunnislake ran out eventual 9-1 winners.
