Friendly
Belstone v Petrockstowe
AFTER two successive Sunday wash-outs Belstone finally got back onto the field with a friendly against Petrockstowe, who are currently playing one division below Belstone in the North Devon League.
This disparity showed when the accurate Belstone attack soon got the upper hand, conceding just one run an over for the first 16 overs, with Ryan Dennis returning career-best figures of four wickets for seven runs from seven overs.
Such was the home side's dominance that they were able to post three slips and a gully for much of the Petrockstowe innings for whom only opening bat Gary Toop reached double figures.
Beginning cautiously he finally opened out with three sixes off Harry Bushin and Callum Mallett before being seventh out for 41, spectacularly caught at long off by a backwards-falling Dan Fogerty. The innings finished soon after with the score on just 71.
Belstone knocked off the required runs at five an over as Scott Tremain and Jack Hatton made batting look easy with 25 not out and 42 not out respectively.
Belstone beat Petrockstowe by nine wickets.
