Chagford 2

Tedburn St Mary 0

THE lack of games in recent weeks showed in both sides and the early exchanges were fairly equal.

Aylett returned in the Chagford goal, looking confident and brave with one save at the feet of an advancing forward. Most heartening for the Moormen was the sight of Andrew Davis coming back into form, who was a constant threat down Chagford's right flank.

It was Davis who scored the opener, soon after Chagford were denied the lead through an offside decision.

Eaun Stone sent through a slide-rule pass to set up Davis. Ollie Squire sent a great shot across goal, the ball skating past the far post. Miller went close with a header from Stone's free-kick as Chagford sought to increase their lead.

Chagford came out for the second half keen to make their mark and they did just that within ten minutes. Davis picked up a loose clearance, carried the ball forward and calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner.

Tedburn resolutely came back but wayward shooting, Aylett's safe hands and Jackson's goal-line header preserved the home lead to the end of a close fought match.
