AT Okehampton Golf Club during the weekend the 36 hole Club Championship took place.

Barry Down won the 2013 Club Championship with a gross score of 148 (77 + 71) after beating Gareth Holt (74+74) on the 10th extra play-off hole in a tense and exciting climax. Jonathan Rattenbury was third with a gross 150 (75 + 75), closely followed by his dad Paul who achieved a gross 158 (81 + 77).

The Hutchings Cup for best nett score over the two days was won by Paul Alford with an impressive 126 (66 + 60). Sam Woolacott was second with 133 (70+ 63). There was a battle for third position with the next three players all coming in with a nett score of 136. After countback third place was awarded to club champion Barry Down (71 + 65).

The Leonard Tankard for the age 55 and over category for the best gross over 36 holes was won by Rod Milsom-Smith.

Last week the ladies competed in the June Stableford. The winner in the silver division was Abby Turner with 36 pts and second was Pam Jarman with 34 pts.

In the bronze division the winner was Sue Williams with 38pts, second was Lynda Walker with 37pts and third Mary Keir with 35pts.
