n TEAM of sporty youngsters have been given a boost by Okehampton Town Council following a grant aid donation for their team.

Okehampton Rugby Club's U8s team were presented with a cheque for £500 from mayor Cllr Rev Mike Davies to support their efforts in keeping youngsters fit and providing them with a healthy hobby.

Each financial year, the town council sets aside money to be distributed to local organisations and charities over the coming year, and regularly review grant aid applications. There is a cap of £500 for each group in an effort to spread the money as fairly and wisely as possible. For more information, call Okehampton Town Council on 01837 53179.
