The Daniel Bruce memorial tournament and fun day was held earlier this month at Fillace Park by Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association.
The organisers said it was an amazing day with lots of ‘fun, good spirit and sunshine’ as well as raising a superb £1,555.13 for Jeremiah’s Journey, a charity for bereaved children and young people.
The football was an under 13’s tournament with teams from all leagues from the Devon Junior Minor. The winners were AFC Plympton and runners up were Chaddlewood Blues.
There were stalls, bouncy castle, barbecue and refreshments and stalls with many prizes donated by local businesses.
Sarah and Peter Bruce, on behalf of the organisers, thanked all the sponsors for their generosity.
They especially thanked Stephanie Hutchings and Ryan Brown who volunteered their services as referees.
’The day went without a hitch and with the sun shining it was made lovely by the excitement of the children as they arrived for their football. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported this fantastic day!’
