TABLE tennis player Edward Haskell from Okehampton travelled to Milton Keynes to compete in the Milton Keynes open two star tournament.

Edward, aged 12, played against many top players form all around England in both the U13s age catogory and the U16s age catorgory. He proved his talent in the sport by bringing home two trophies. 

In the U13s he won all his matches 3-0 to earn him the winners postion. He also came second in the U16s which he was ranked fifth in. He won his runner-up placement by beating the second seeded player in the semis. This was a great win for him as many players were four years his senior. He has also competed in the Cirencester open recently and won the U13s age group.

Edward is currently 16th in England and trains twice a week with the South West Squad both in Okehampton and Plymouth, as well as playing for the Devon county team.
