Plymouth Uni C 0

AFTER their 2-0 victory against OPM B Okehampton A were at home to Plymouth Uni C.

Okehampton fielded a young side and captain Brett Lawson decided to try some of the younger players in new positions.

Starting quickly, testing the Uni defence, Okehampton soon scored via Brett Lawson. Lawson also scored the second.

Okehampton were awarded a penalty flick when Lawson put the ball onto a defender's foot on the line.

Top scorer of the season Jake Lloyd stepped up to take the flick and coolly pushed it past the keeper. With continued pressure, Okehampton were awarded a penalty corner — Lawson hitting the ball to Lloyd who directed it into the goal for their fourth. Lloyd then scored his third.

The wide players Angus Cunningham, Caleb Bourne, Alfie Petherbridge and Jaden Read all played well to help make the goals happen.

Uni played good hockey and were quick to press the ball and towards the end of the first half created a lot of pressure. However, Okehampton midfield Riou Thomas and Tim Morgan, defence of Haydon Perrior, Tom Hutchings, John Jarvis and Alex Osman, and keeper George Morgan who made some good clearances, worked hard to keep Uni out.

The second half started much as the first half ended with Uni pressing but Okehampton were dangerous on the break and scored their sixth with Lloyd scoring again.

Lloyd then managed to undo the defence to score his fifth goal of the match and then later hit one to the far post where Jaden Read was well placed to slot the ball home.

Man of the match was Tim Morgan.
