IN the Okehampton Netball League Speedwells beat Falcons 46-43 in a game that could have gone either way.

With Falcons only being beaten a couple of times over the last 20 years Speedwells found themselves within a couple of goals of winning the match nerves. From the first quarter the match was so close only a couple of goals separated the teams at the end of each quarter.

Falcons just had the edge throughout but Speedwells played some exceptional netball in the final quarter to nudge into the lead. With excellent shooting from Debbie Squirrel and the outstanding defence of Sandra Ausden at the other end, Speedwells held on win by three goals.

This was an excellent display of netball from both teams.

In the third division Illuminators beat Storm 12-11 in another close match. Illuminators scored first and this seemed to give them a confidence boost and ended the first half leading by four goals. Storm whipped up a storm in the third quarter and pulled the score back to 7-7.

With the goals going with centre in the final quarter it could have gone either way however Illuminators just held on to win by one goal.
