ISCA ladies’ fifths 5
Okehampton ladies’ seconds 1
THE game started with good possession from the visitors. Nicky Stoneman in midfield fed the ball out to Ellie Shayler and Viv Weatherington to make the link with attacking forwards Emma Wiseman and Alex Collins.
However, ISCA’s defence were not relinquishing control in their circle preventing the forwards getting anywhere near the goal.
ISCA were strong on the wing attack, taking the ball down the side lines forcing Zoe Curtis, Anna Luxton and Debbie Pritchard to work hard to defend their many attempts at bringing the ball forward to score.
Midfielders Louise Weller, Jess Medland and Tilly Dixon had to move wide to support, exposing the centre pitch. It was not long before ISCA took advantage, gaining the upper hand and scoring two goals before half time.
Okehampton had to fight for possession in the second half but a goal was soon in sight. A long ball from Jess Medland, Oke’s player of the match, to forward Emma Wiseman, led to a great shot to score and make it 1-2.
ISCA maintained possession with Okehampton trying to win the ball back, but it was not enough. ISCA put Oke under pressure with the defence players Nicky Stoneman and Sandy Douglas forced wide on many occasions leaving goalie Lucy Wiseman unsupported, hence ISCA scored three more goals.
ISCA were the better team but Oke put up a good fight.
