A GREAT final day at the Okehampton Sports and Fitness festival saw a clean sweep by local teams of all the top prizes. This was despite strong opposition and a record 47 teams from all over the South West in different events. After 12 years of the mixed hockey tournament Okehampton finally emerged triumphant with outstanding performances by all.  Okehampton women's five-a-side football team took on a record field of 14 top teams from Devon and Cornwall, coming out on top with Sarah Godbear making a superb save in the final that went to penalties. Scott Hooper's Okehampton team in the men's five-a-side finished of the clean sweep with an outstanding performance. There was a new record entry in the veterans' competition with teams coming from as far as Bristol to compete. Hatherleigh proved too strong by winning all their matches with an Okehampton team led by Neil Clift coming in as runners up.
