Chagford 8
Exmouth Amateur Reserves 2
A REUBEN Sampson goal in the first minute set the tone for this game, despite the atrocious weather.
Sampson doubled his tally just six minutes later, Chagford taking advantage of their opponents half of the pitch was far more playable than their own.
Exmouth were all too often bogged down when they did cross the halfway line, although defending was not that easy either.
Goals from Andrew Davis, Ben Barkwill, Craig Vincent, Tallan Burns and Sampson (for his hat-trick) gave Chagford an unassailable half-time lead.
Burns netted his second goal five minutes after the break but then the conditions, more than anything, blunted Chagford’s attack.
Exmouth pulled back two goals in the last 20 minutes but there was to be no spectacular comeback, the players thankful to hear the final whistle.

Exmouth Spartans 4
THIS match appeared to be lost to Chagford after just an hour as the Spartans swept into a three goal lead through Gibson, Laskey and Fulls.
Playing in spring sunshine, both teams went for the win from the first kick-off but it was the hosts lack of firepower and defensive frailities that let them down.
Second half substitutes Max Floyd-Walker and Liam O’Connell for Chagford came on and, within six minutes of each other, hammered in unstoppable shots to narrow the gap.
Spartans had the last word, Radford’s shot deceiving Knight for their fourth although Knight had earlier made three good saves to keep his side in the running.
