KENTISBEARE 1

OKEHAMPTON ARGYLE 2

OKEHAMPTON, with a much changed side, travelled to Kentisbeare with a depleted squad.

With starts for Haymen, Penberthy and Wills they all gave a great account for themselves.

The game definitely lacked quality for a change on a wet pitch with both teams finding it hard to link up for many clear cut chances. A couple of Argyle misses from Kinsey and the impressive Luke Reynolds in the first half and an excellent five minute spell by Oke goalkeeper Aaron Dearing saving a number of chances, kept it 0-0 at half time.

The second half came and with Argyle looking to play more football and more spaces were created. With a header from Chadwick cleared off the line, Okehampton started to dominate.

Luke Reynolds broke the dead lock with Will Hawking firing a killer pass through onto his chest for him to control and clip into the home team’s net.

Ten minutes later Reynolds again proved a nightmare to defend against and was brought down in the box. Chadwick stepped forward to slot the penalty into the top corner in what ended up in sealing the win.

A late flurry saw Kentisbeare grab one back with Dearing’s only mistake of the game. Oke seemed to always be in control for the remaining minutes, spending most the the last 10 minutes camped in the opposition’s half.

Both Aaron Dearing and Luke Reynolds were outstanding and shared the spoils for man of the match.

Oke’s best wishes are with the Kentisbeare player who was injured at the home fixture a couple months ago and is still not able to play. They wish him all the best in his recovery.

Argyle remain top of Devon and Exeter premier, unbeaten and the team to beat.
