HAVING given up ground advantage last week the University travelled to Chagford again, both sides seeking to do better than before.

The students opened brightly and it was no great surprise when Foster put them a goal up, in the ninth minute. Once again, skipper Andrew Davis was on hand to net an equaliser for Chagford and both sides played equally good football.

Miller and Friend dominated midfield, with the home defence largely untroubled until the 40th minute, when Norman deftly tipped over a deflected shot.

Chagford came out with all guns blazing and, when Adam White fired in a long range drive, the match was there for the taking. Just five minutes later Reuben Sampson wormed his way through the students’ defence and slotted the ball past Will Miller, a feat he was to repeat in the 85th minute.

This result took Chagford to the top of the table but they face a strong test away at Axmouth United on Saturday at 2.15pm.
