A MUCH depleted squad travelled eastward but, following injuries to key players on the day, came away with nothing to show for their efforts.

Just one goal at half-time separated the two sides. When Tom Stanbury, Miller and ’keeper Norman all sustained injuries, the visitors battled to the end but could not prevent further goals. Club President, Pat Stanbury donned a shirt and highlighted the camaraderie within the club. The Chagford man of the match was Craig Vincent.

CHAGFORD Reserves enjoyed a better afternoon against newcomers Kenn Valley.

Conceding a first half goal, they quickly knuckled down in the second and overcame their hosts. Adam White made an early start to his season with two goals, Darren Siwiec netted once, as did debutante Paul Huxham. With a handful of new players in the side, the team played well and will look to further improvement. Man of the match Paul Huxham.
