Ilminster 0

South Zeal United 3

Zeal went in search of a third successive victory away at Ilminster on Saturday, again with just a bare 11 players to field.

Zeal seemed to be in full control right from the off, creating good scoring chances time and time again. It wasn’t until the late arrival of Harley Cann that they made their early dominance count.

Barely a few minutes had passed and he was involved in the opening goal.

Linking well with Tom Reilly and Ryan Dennis, a great passing move was completed when Adam Clark found space in the box to meet Ryan’s superb cross, heading the past the Ilminster keeper to give Zeal the lead.

The second half saw Adam Clark and Samuel Jones miss a number of gilt-edged chances to add to Zeal’s lead. Harley Cann finally found the net again with a neat finish as Ilminster scrambled to clear their lines.

Zeal’s final goal came with 20 minutes left. The away side used their pace to swiftly turn defence in to attack.

Ryan Dennis sent Adam Clark through on goal with another superb ball over the Ilminster defence. Clark won the chase to the ball before knocking the ball past the keeper for his second of the match and 20th of the season.

Zeal are away at Winkleigh on Saturday. United are home vs Winchester on Easter Monday. KO 3pm for both games.
