DJM Raleigh Cup Final
Tavistock CFC U14s 3
Map Kings 2
TAVISTOCK CFC under 14s travelled to Elburton Villa to play in the DJM Raleigh cup final last Sunday. Their opponents were Map Kings.
Tavistock started off strongly scoring the first goal with a threaded pass from Adam Talbot to Lewis Follett who took one touch and rifled the ball into the bottom right hand corner.
Tavistock then went 2-0 up with good work by Sam Saunders to set up Elliot Jago who curled the ball into the top right hand corner from 25 yards.
Map came back strong just before half time scoring a goal to bring the score to 2-1.
In the second half Map came out fighting to equal the score to 2-2 after 10 mins.
Tavistock then had to work hard with some resilient and robust defending and some fantastic goalkeeping by George Pankhurst to keep the score at 2-2 as Map were fighting back strongly. Then in the final 5 minutes a long pass from Jake Walker to Elliot Jago who struck another venomous strike into the bottom right hand corner to gain a well deserved 3-2 victory for Tavistock.
This tops off a season which has also seen them finish second in their division and promotion for next season.
