IN the only game to go ahead in their league on Saturday, Chagford returned home with their unbeaten run intact, largely thanks to a brace of goals from skipper Andrew Davis.

However, the Moormen were disappointed that all three points would have been taken, but for some wayward finishing.

THE club secretary John Pearce had some sad news to report.

He told the Times: ‘The club has been shaken by the news of the sudden death of club president, David Watson.

‘David was an ardent supporter of the club and was mostly seen regularly patrolling the cricket square, helping in the clubhouse and contributing in many other ways.

‘He will be greatly missed by all and our thoughts are with his family, at this tragic time.’
