A QUARTET of runners from Okehampton Running Club's 'Coe' group were among the contestants for the Brooks Plymouth Hoe 10 miler.

This popular road race starts and finishes at the Brickfields ground and is an undulating course through the streets of Plymouth taking in the Barbican and the Hoe. It took place in bright but windy conditions attracting a strong field of 556 runners.

The overall winner was Tom Merson from Bristol & West AC. Roger Voaden was the first ORC member home in 36th place in a time of 1.01.20. Not far behind and closely grouped were club mates Andy Vernon 1.06.04 (UKA silver award), Dave Mugliston 1.06.16 and Bryan Friend 1.07.37.
