ON Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club a men's individual Stableford competition was held. The winner of division one with 41 points was Matt Soby. Simon Taylor was second with 39 and in third was Pete Murphy with 38. The second division was won by Colin Beardwell with 42pts. Second with 38 was Kerry Skinner closely followed by Mike Lang in third with 31. Division three was won by Gerry Carpanini with 41pts; second with 36 was John Haley while Jonathan Swainbank was third with 35.

The ladies section began the season with the March Medal. The winner of the silver division was Lin Atkinson with a net 74; second was Abby Turner with net 77 and third Marcia Jones with net 79. The bronze division winner was Sue Stanbury with net 77, second Val Dodsworth with net 81 and third Mary Keir with net 82.

On March 14 the ladies played a qualifier for entry to the County Bowmaker Competition in October. The winners with 84 points were Jenni Hutchinson, Sue Stanbury and Mary Keir.
