Plymouth Marjons ladies 1

Tavistock ladies 4

TAVISTOCK ladies started the game in positive fashion after midfielder Nevin made a great run past the Marjons’ defence to set up player of the match Laura Armstrong on her reverse side, which gave the visitors the lead within two minutes.

Tavistock continued to look dangerous from some great work from forward line Lamb, Donelly and Gaspar and it did not take them long to make it 2-0 after Scott put away a strong slap past the Marjons’ keeper from a Tavistock short corner. Marjons stepped up their game and were causing problems in the Tavistock D, which saw Colston saving off line.

Shortly after the home side took up a second opportunity to beat keeper Mills-Hicks, and make it 2-1 to the visitors.

The second half started quickly once again for the Reds with Lamb causing problems for the Marjons’ defence with a great run along the baseline; she slipped it back to Gaspar, who smashed it past the keeper.

The home side kept battling but just could not get through the defensive line with some strong work from Pollock, Kelly and Boulle.

Shortly after Tavistock gave their last push and sealed the game with a fine finish from Nevin to end the game at 4-1.
