Sidbury U15s 2
Okehampton Argyle U15s 3
Okehampton knew that nothing less than a victory would see them relegated to division two. Every player showed courage and commitment for each other to pick up the vital three points.
Argyle captain Ross Voaden opened the scoring midway through the first half with a cool finish after being put clear. Okehampton continued to dominate possession but after failing to finish numerous chances, Sidbury equalised after the visitors failed to clear a corner and a long range effort found the corner of the net.
Coming out level for the second half Argyle had just 40 minutes to save their season and five minutes after the restart things got worse as they went behind.
Okehampton continued to play all the football and with 10 minutes remaining they switched Josh Stanbury from sweeper to make the shift forward and he duly scored the equaliser, calmly lobbing the on rushing keeper from the edge of the area.
With five minutes remaining the all important chance fell to talisman, Voaden, and he finished with aplomb. As the game reached injury time, Voaden was denied his hat-trick as his shot came off the inside of the post, but the game soon finished and Argyle had ensured their safety.
