A FIRST regional table tennis tournament for adult players was hosted by Horrabridge Table Tennis Club earlier this month in the Community School Hall.

Twenty players including some of the juniors involved in the local league from Milton Abbot, Gunnislake, Tavistock and Anchorage clubs, as well as Horrabridge, spent six hours playing both singles and doubles matches in some closely contested games.

Results: singles’ winner John Steuart, runner up, Alex Lenesu; consolation singles’ winner Thomas Doidge, runner-up Jenny Gilbert; doubles’ winners Bob Vella and Thomas Doidge, runners up, Peter Hicks and Angharad Beman.

The event was organised by club coach Roger Bowkett and the club is grateful to the Horrabridge Cavaliers for their sponsorship of this tournament
