THEY must be mad, or if they aren’t it certainly helps. There was a great turn out for the annual Hatherleigh Walrus Dip on New Year’s Day — all in the name of charity. The hardy souls plunged in to the River Lew for a freezin’ five minutes while some also enjoyed a roll on the mud bank. Among the dippers were many in colourful fancy dress costumes, including a cast of Super Heroes — Holy Walrus, Batman!
