OKEHAMPTON Smallbore Club hosted, over two weekends, the Lightweight Sport Rifle Open South West Championships at their indoor ranges.
They had an impressive result from the club's own members across three divisions in this individual competition.
In division A, Shaun Millership shot really well to gain third place in a high class field.
Lawrence Bennie won his division B, which was a tough division to win as it had 18 entries from across the region. And Matt Urmston was second out of 15 entries in division C – again this was an excellent achievement in a strong field of entries.
This competition consists of shooting 40 precision shots at 20 yards, 30 precision at 25 metres and 30 shots at the 'turning target' at 25 metres.
Okehampton Smallbore Club's LSR 'A' team on a high after winning division two.
Contested by teams representing clubs from all over Devon, OSC's 'A' team of Shaun Millership, Dave Saunders, Carol Saunders and Lawrence Bennie won the division after winning 9 out of 10 rounds over the winter months on their home range in Okehampton.
Jason Ponsford, match secretary, said: 'This was a huge achievement for them, especially as each improved on his average. It means that the team move up into division one for next season'.
